Web Design Gorey
We have been looking at how Google is changing over the past few weeks and see that Goolge has definately started its changeover to the new listing method.
So I am writing this to see if it will appear in a basic listing for Web Design Gorey tomorrow. I will report back and let you know what happens.
Why?
Because if google is changing for us its also changing for the way they list you. . . Our clients!

We were approached by one of our long standing website design clients, Kinbark Products Ltd. A Company based in Camolin in Co. Wexford, they supply Bark Mulch and also have a vast variety of “Mature Trees”.
They needed their existing website revamped and to be enabled so that they could edit and amend the sites content. We redesigned their website with a new layout and design. Giving them a small content managed website.
Once they were happy with the new site we brought them in for Training. Once they were trained the fully understood the ability of their new “Marketing Tool” and that it’s not just a web-page, but now they have the ability to get fresh content onto their website as soon as they have it. Images, Text, Video can now all be uploaded to the new site.
Best of luck with the new site Bridget and Michelle.

The College Of Hairdressing approached us to create a social networking marketing campaign for their business. They are an Irish company based in Galway supplying hairdressing courses, both part time and full time.
They wanted to bring their website and their skills to their audiance base. They understood that just having a website is great but how to you get to your target market online . We created a bompany Blog for them. This allows them to easily update a news style website in a easy to uses “What You See Is What you Get” or “WYSIWYG” format.
They still have their “brochure style” website with content management that is their official website but we have created a method for them to go to the areas where their potential clients are, such as Bebo, FaceBook, Twitter and LinkedIn for Example.
They now have relevent information on all these site to draw in viewers to their courses. All these site link back into their official website. They have also assigned a marketing member of staff to manage these site. This person has been asked to “get Involved” and “to engage” their audience.
We would like to wish the College of Hairdressing the best of luck with their new campaign.

Who is http://66.102.9.132/ IP Address?
Well we have talked about how Google changing before and it looks like Google has started it already. They are changing the way they return information to the user, before they would return a list of websites for you, now they are returning more options such as images.
Does your site stats show a link from http://66.102.9.132/
Well this is Google, They are indexing the worlds images and will be reading the “Alt” tags on images and image names to returns new results for users.
What can we expect, we can expect Google to start returning site with “Media Rich Content“. That is sites with good content with images, text and maybe more!!

We have been approached recently about a website called www.NorthWexford.com. This was a website for a local tourism group called “North Wexford Tourism“. They used the website to help promote the local area of North Wexford in the Sunny South East.
However the group has fallen away over the years and many members are in fact longer with us. It was a group with nearly 25 years experience and expertise in marketing North Wexford as a Tourist Destination. When the domain expired we registered it. We then put back up the basic information that was on the site and so it remained till now.
In September 2008 we revamped the website and in 2009 we will be launching a new NorthWexford.com once our Beta Testing is complete. The new site will cover more than simply tourism. The area has grown into a commuter town for many Dubliners, Many migrant workers now live in Gorey and surrounds. Is is said to have the largest secondary school in Ireland with another one planned of the same size!
We will let you know once the site is ready for public viewing.

Here are a few tips when creating a website by yourself.
- Keep the Navigation easy and quick, people have a short attention span and if you make the site too complex the user will click “back” and you will have lost them.
Don’t pack all your information onto the homepage, this is a common mistake with newbies, they try to get all the sites information onto the “first” page. But the point is the homepage doesn’t have to be the “first page”. Search engines will display the page they choose so it’s ok to spread out your information.
- Keep the colours “easy on the eye”, We get asked to make sites “purple and gold” as we are located in Wexford, However we decline the offer as otherwise the website could be thought of as being a GAA Sporting website. Easy colours will let your user read the information for longer.
- Spelling and Grammar, this is something that I myself often fall down on. There is always time to click on the “ABC” icon and spell check your site.
- Fast to Download, on a recent business tender I was reading today this was one of the major priority of the semi-state body. This is a real example of how broadband has not reached the 4 conors or Ireland. A site must download fast as not everyone is on broadband, so remember them ands design for them too.
- Not too many AdSense ads, if you are putting advertising on the site don’t pack it in as your users will just get peed off the leave, thus not even click on any of you well placed adverts !
- Content is King, remember the golden rule, Search Engines are now looking to return the most informative website they can so make sure your website content does exactly that. Give your audience good quality content.
That’s it for now, enjoy !
