Michael D’Arcy TD – Goes Online!

February 26th, 2009 by admin

We are delighted that our local Government Representative has chosen us to help get online. Michael had asked us a number of years ago to secure his domain name www.MichaelDarcy.ie for him. We registered his domain and had it parked till it was needed. Well now its ready to be used!

So we have created a blog/news style website that will give and his staff the ability to edit and amend the website from anywhere, any time. They can add images, movies, news events, links to sites of interest.

Using the Internet in this way will mean that Michael can (and will !) keep us, his constituents, both local and afar up to speed with his work in North Wexford.

Services carried out to date:

  • Domain Registration
  • Web Hosting
  • Web Marketing
  • Web Design

We wish Michael and his team the very best for the future.

However like everything it had it’s time and we were happy to show Paul Scott and his team that a newly designed website using a full content management program would help them structure their online presence.

We have created a website for the outdoor centre that will bring to life the activities at this popular venue for school tours, team building, summer camps and corporate weekends.

Spam email on the increase!

February 16th, 2009 by admin

We have noticed that we are getting more and more requested from companies asking us to help remove their spam from their inboxes. Staff are wasting time each morning and afternoon going through up to 100 emails per day selling online drugs to relationship advice! (some are similar !)

Not only is this wasting time, but you as the owner of the business are also putting yourself in a legal situation with respect to the content you are making them view by asking them to use your company email. Does it say it in your employee contract? Nope! Most people overlook it.

Anyway . . We have the solution for your Spam Filter and Anti Virus Needs. Call Dave Jordan on 053-9430748 to more help and advice.

Why get a website . . Do I need a Website?

February 12th, 2009 by admin

Talking to business person this week and they were wondering if it’s any use getting a website for a business. So after I asked if they were joking we discussed the benefits of a company having a website and one of the main benefits was that it was one of the most affordable methods of marketing and promoting a business.

They assumed that only internet companies are online and that since they didn’t sell DVD’s or CD’s that they didn’t need to be online!. . I was amazed as I assumed that everyone knew at this stage that the Internet is for everyone.

Every business is an Internet business.

Every company needs to have at least and online brochure for their company. If you can’t be found online you don’t exist. This is what people tell us, not what I’m saying just the feedback that we get from our day to day business!

So if you feel that your business might need to get involved in the “InterWeb” then read more of my blog and our company website and get up to speed on what is happening in business marketing today. Then give us a call for an appointment.

Interior Design Wexford

February 10th, 2009 by admin

If you are looking for an Interior Design Company in Wexford, then why not check out our friends at Interior Design Concepts in Gorey.

The business is run by Carolyn Ruth and I would suggest having a look at the “Clients” section where you will be able to see all the types of projects she has worked on. From pubs in Wexford to Hotels and new Housing developments.

The site is created entirely in “Macromedia Flash”, not our favourite development tool, but hey its still looks great!

AIB Internet Banking Email scam

February 6th, 2009 by admin

I am guessing that this is NOT the AIB BANK but in fact another online scam.

Delete It, do NOT Click on the Image, this will only confirm your email address to the scam and you will receive more emails like this.

Who Owns a Domain Name?

February 3rd, 2009 by admin

This is a common question that people ask, well the answer is the domain name should be registered to the person or business who requested the domain name.

When we (cada media Ltd) register a domain name for a client we register the domain name with their details in the “Registrant” area. We have heard tails of woe from people as they found out later that the domain name was actually registered to the web developer and not themselves. This some times can happen when a developer is registering many each day but it is usually fixed by simply changing the name to the clients name in the back end.

You can look up the ownership of a domain by going to www.whois.sc for .com domain and go to www.iedr.ie to look up .ie domain names.

Domain are bought, but in actual fact they are “registered” for a period of time, generally 1 year is normal for start up businesses. After that once they are up and running they can register the domain for a number of years typically 5 would be normal these days.

One point that was brought to our attention recently was that we have a condition in our terms and conditions of our company stating that we are the owners of domain names, hosting and websites till payment has been cleared in our accounts. This is true, we do retain the ownership of the domains till the clients has paid.

If we did not do this,  clients could leave with out paying. It’s not personal, It’s business. You can not buy a car and drive away and then 3 months later return to the garage saying that the gears are a little sticky and then be surprised once the car is impounded, Well neither can you when it comes to a website.

We own it until it’s paid for.
