We are working on a new exciting directory for a existing client who wanted a directory for Ireland, but specifically a Health Directory. The website is still in Beta testing but they have asked us to go ahead and put the site live to start getting the name out there.
Get Listed.
The idea is not new, but the way we have structured the site should help get the site listed in search engines, I know they have a big hill to climb going up against the major players in the Irish health market, but this dedicated team has promise.
We have made the site to allow a user to get listed in a category of their choice or even two or three, then the user can enter a payment to get listed straight away.

Our great friends Michelle & Audrey from our online wedding shop called All About Weddings have finally taken the plunge and upgraded their website to now be fully accepting Irish Debit Cards called Laser Cards. The site also accepts the usual Visa, Master Cards.
While we were at it we created a brand new fully content managed website that will give the girls the ability to upload and amend all the sites content. The last time we gave them this type of functionality was for the shop part of the website just before St Pactricks Day a few years ago.
When we came back into the office following the bank holidays we saw thousands of products. They had stayed up all night for the long weekend and packed their on-line shelves !
The new redesigned site will now give the girls the ability to upload to a Gallery Section they requested to show off their bridal Bouquets and also to give them an area to have an online wedding fair. This business is no stranger to the lime light and they have been featured on TV & print media in Ireland.
To be honest. . . We love’m, they are interested in their products and this is evident in their passion for their industry. I wish all people in business could be like this.

We were happy to be asked by a local business to help promote themselves online and we got the opportunity to create a website for this Physiotherapy Practice in Gorey.
Physio Solutions is run by sportsman Adrian Copeland a seasoned rugby player in the southeast and by the looks of his shinnner when he came into the office, he’s used to seeing the tough side of sports!
It’s not sports injuries that Adrian is capable of helping but many injuries including backpain, neck pain and many more.
We have created an easy to navigate, fast downloading website that will give Adrian the ability to easily update and keep news information about his skills and expertise. We learned during the creation of the website that his industry is always evolving and new techniques are always being learned and practiced. An interesting world, similar to our own I guess.
When Neil of Safety Skills Training Ltd called into our office to inquiry about setting up a new business for Safety Training Courses in Ireland we originally told him it usually takes about 6 weeks to set up a website. Taken into consideration getting a logo designed, stationary printed, brochures created and web content created.

We were recently approached by a Bed and Breakfast in Wicklow called Glendale BnB who also have selfcatering accommodation in the famous Glendalough in the garden of Ireland in Co. Wicklow.
This family run accommodation business is run by Christy and Valerie Merrigan, who take pride in their location and being in the middle of everything that is beautiful in Wicklow. Their setting is an ideal location for touring the east coast of Ireland and when we were going through the things to do and see we understood just how perfectly situated the Bed and Breakfast and 4 self catering cottages are.
It’s nice to meet a couple who enjoy their business and I guess we felt that they put their into their accommodation, Christie and Valerie know their area very well and thats how they were able to give us all the details they needed on the website. Their original site was over 7 years old and had searved them well. Their new site is fully content managed allowing them the ability to edit and update the website with images of wicklow, special offers and news and events in their locality.

Its great to see new businesses starting up all the time and we often have to remind people the life has not stopped and this is apparent as we learnt of the investment in building and security that David O Sullivan has recently completed in his new massive buildings near Gorey in Co Wexford.

Storage facilities are often for self storage for small items like a barbaque or a few boxes from the attic, where as here at Self East Storage they store big stuff, Antique cars, motor bikes, Camper vans, Motor homes, dingy’s and even Yachts from the local Sailing clubs in Wicklow and Wexford.

These are just a few of the terms we have learnt when we were asked by Arkman Engineers in Gorey to revamp their static website and create a new content management system to allow them to give the information they need to give to their potential customers in and easy to navigate method.
Arkman Engineers are a team of qualified engineers based in Gorey, Co. Wexford, the company is headed up by Pat Roche and John O’Callaghan. With many years experience in Construction, Food, Health care, Pharmaceutical to name a few.
One of the items that we learnt was a service they provide that whereby they can go into a factory and do a survey to see how efficient the “assets” or machinery of the factory is and then produce reports on how they can cut down a companies “carbon footprint” and reduce their “carbon tax”.
This new business to the area approached us to create a website to demonstrate her skills and capabilities in photography. Being able to use the website to showcase her various areas of expertise.
Criona Poutch is the photographer bebind the lens in this Wexford based business. Originnally from Dublin (like myself) she is one of the many people who relocated to the South East in recent years. Getting established in a new area is difficult, bot not if your skills and talent are evident in your work.
In Rose Photography this is clear.
Capturing a special moment is a skill, it’s not just about having the right camera (even thought she is Nikon nut!). It’s about having a way with people. This is a gift Criona has in abundance, she understand kids and is great with being able to grab their attention for family photo’s.
We have used Criona’s skills for our websites, we need more the just “snaps”, we need a professional with a mobile studio and the ability to do commercial photography.
The job of being a Wedding Photograher in Wexford is also a really important one, as you need to be assured that the moment is captured on camera. We can’t all come back again tomorrow! Criona has great experience in this too.
Fixing old photo’s is another service offered by Rose Photography, taking the old family photo out of the attic and restoring it would be a great Christmas present for the special someone this year!

We have just carried out a new project for a famous wicklow furniture shop recently and I would like to tell you about it.
Morgan Doyles in Arklow.
This family run business is over 74 years on the go, starting off from hunble beginnings as many family run businesses do they were originally based on the main street in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
Over the years they have expanded and grown into one of the biggest home decor and furnishings business on the east coast. About a year ago they took the opportunity to up sticks and move lock stock and barrel to a brand new purpose build showroom just out side of the town. This 30,000 square foot furniture shop is open plan and bright, really allowing you to view all the furniture. Their products include:
In order to get across the quality of their furniture and the size of the showroom we called upon our professional photographerCriona Poutch to help us with the imagery needed on the website. Criona has the x factor a photographer needs and also the correct equipment forthe wide angle shops needed.

The things we learn about in this business ah! Heres one of industries that most of us wouldn’t know about or even start to think there was such a trade. The removal of grease and sludge from commercial kitchens such as Hotels, Restaurants and any commercial food supplying business in now a must.
We were approached by one of our long existing clients to revamp their website and give them a fresh, new, content managed website allowing them to easily update it with the latest news and products that are happening in the industry.
Geraldine needed a professional looking site to portray the complexity of the business, it’s a mucky, messy business but also a very strict won, governed by many regulations and permits.
All of these permits Bio Grease Solutions have gained and earned with the knowledge they in this sticky business!

Yes, it’s true Santa is coming to Gorey this year and he’ll be over with our friends in Kia Ora Mini Farm making sure all the animals are enjoying the holidays. While he’s there he’ll be checking that Podge, Evelyn, Paddy and Maura have worked hard during the year and learned all the lessons including their new content managed website from Cada Media in Gorey.
This year they have chosen to revamp their website to let all their customers have a better experience visiting Kia on-line and hopefully giving them more information than they ever had. Redesign the website also meant thinking of what people would like and it’s this reason that Paddy and Maura thought that a Gallery of the mini farm might explain better the attractions that visitors can expect, (although they did point out to me, that not all the animals are there all year round so let the little people know that too!)
They also had a video on cd that we have edited and used for the Christmas Holidays and the other video is loaded on their You Tube Channel.
Glasgorman Computers in Gorey decided to revamp their static html style website into a fully content managed site to give them more flexibility in updating the website and keeping it fresh. Being a computer hardware and networking consultancy type of business they understood that they could work on the website themselves as they work with computers etc. But opted to work with a company who specialise in that area, ourselves ! It’s this ethos that companies go for when choosing to use Glasgorman Computers, “get the guys who specialise in computers and networking etc.
Computer Networking
This can be as simple as Peer to Peer meaning from one pc to another, or Client Server Network meaning one central server that the clients pc log into and get the data from. Both are common in small office network structures, it can also mean having a LAN, local Area Network. In talking to John Timmons from Glasgorman Computers we learned that they have created all of these over the years and even WAN’s (Wide Area Networks) .
It was this abilility that grabbed our attention as they also have a sister company supplying broadband and its the marriage of these two capabilities that enable them to help companies link up office to office and pc to pc across roads etc. Situations where a companies own two factories on either side of the road and need the linked up. These are the guys to call.
Project Management
Another service John explained to us was the whole project management of computer hardware and he gave me a good example of how a local business in Gorey was opening up a new shop in the shopping centre and needed a new point of sale system, network, server, phone system, cctv and backup system. The owner needed to concentrate in setting up of the shop and get an expert in to advise and supervise the expansion project. Glasgorman Computers came in, worked with the shop owner and was able to do all the tech talk with the suppliers and companies installing the different systems.
Educated to all of their services we set about creating a website to suit their company profile and structure. Learning exactly what a client does is what I call website design, without knowing what someone really does how can we give them what they need!
We have worked on a number of websites for different packaging companies over the years, from actual production line suppliers to the suppliers of actual packaging products. This time it’s the latter, a great packaging company based in Arklow in Co. Wicklow called Paramount Packaging.

We were proud to be approached by this new eco energy company in Wexford to create a website for their business. We started the process off by registering a domain name for them and securing www.FernGreen.ie then we created a web hosting pack to put up a basic holding page with their contact details while we designed their website. This also allows them to start to use the domain for emails which go through our server to. They immediately set up info@ferngreen.ie and used that for their business cards etc
We then called out to their new purpose build eco building in Ferns in Wexford to see for ourselves the example of an eco house they have for their showroom. The entire building is an amazing example of the use of Wind Turbines, Solar Panels and even a rubber type of slate tiles on the roof!
It was after an hour or so that I realised that this was a very serious project indeed. The whole building is a working model of how an eco energy efficient house should be like. The well informed staff were able to run through all the details to the pellet boiler heating systems to underfloor heating systems. Walking around the building I even noticed the recycled decking outside!
