Martins Jewellers in Wexford town have been one of our customers for many years and we have seen their business change over the years and so too have their on-line presence. From being a brochure static HTML site Kevin and his team have progressed the site with us to a full content managed site giving them the capability to update it easily.

Going social is what it’s all about these days in terms of word of mouth marketing and what better way to take advantage of this new medium using social media site such as Facebook.com and YouTube. The site has been upgraded to the latest version of everything ! Its similar in style as the design brief instructed, but it now allows even more feedback and user participation. The live Facebook feeds will show how Martins Jewellers are being interacted with on-line and how you can see for yourself the genuine testimonials that people out there are saying about their products and their professional service.

One off designs and unique concept jewellery are how Martins Jewellers have carved themselves a niche as the best jewellers in Ireland . . . . . . . in my eyes, of course.

Azure Health & Beauty Salon are based on the Clonattin Road in Gorey, Co, Wexford. They are a family run business with a great personality. Working with Helen Byrne was a pleasure and helping them revamp their website and give them a better footing on the Internet has been a pleasure. Their old website was fine, a basic HTML “old school” style of site that was a brochure to their Health Salon here in Gorey.

Our brief was to update the site to a content management system that is easy to use and will allow them to update the site with special offers and change products and prices as needs be. We have given them a wordpress based site that allow just this. We have also designed for them a handful of extra headers that will be easily changed as they change the site to suit each season.

Well this isn’t strictly correct as they have been amalgamated with two other bodies for a while now, but as of from today the website is now switched over. That is www.WicklowLeader.ie is now pointing to www.WicklowPartership.ie Ok , not so exciting as you think, but hey this is what we do and its important to get it right !

Anyway, We have been working on the new site for a while now and we recommended to the guys there that when changing names to remember that search engines too like to be notified of changes of address and not just postmen! So we launched the newly created site today with what I will call site pointers from the old pages to the new site. This will stop the 404 error pages and very cleanly allow you to navigate to the new sites.

This is one of the suggested methods when you are working with Google for instance that they request that you do this to help the transition to the new address. Its polite to them and to your users who could get lost easily.

We also recommended to them to keep the old domain name for a while to aid this transition. Simply dropping a domain name and grabbing a new one is ok for some, but if you are interested in your viewers and the people looking for you on-line then redirecting an old name to the new name is they way to go.

The new site is all content managed allowing the members of staff there to update the site easily with news/ events and edit every aspect of the site. I would like to thank Brian Kehoe and his dedicated team for their help on the sites content and its structure.

Today’s mini website is for a Plant hire business based in Enniscorthy called Dempsey Plant Hire. They are a family business with tonnes of experiences in the construction and building industry (Yes,  the pun was intended!) We have created a mini website to help them get their first foot on the Internet ladder. Often when a business is moving online they will take smaller steps as they are unsure of the pros and cons of being on-line.

This small site allows the Dempsey Plant Hire business to be found online and contacted. The site consists of only 3 pages, A homepage, a contact form and and acknowledgement page. Though small the site gets the point across that these guys are involved in Foundations, drainage, sub floors, footpaths as-well as concrete work and have machines from 3 tonne to 21 tonne available.

Great to see one of our clients featured alongside some of Ireland’s best wildlife on tonight show of “Living the Wild Life” on national TV. Scubadive West are a family run diving resort situated on the famous Killary Fjord on Ireland west coast. Some of the best diving in Europe is said to be had with a good variety of sea life and usually great visibility,  sometimes in the high 20′s (thats meter’s for the non divers).

The guys are passionate about their sport and indeed the lifestyle that the west of Ireland has to offer, I look forward to the programe now and have pressed record already!

This was a great website to work on as I love the outdoors and travelling to Achill Island in Co Mayo was one of the benefits of the project. Achill Outdoor Education Centre are part of the Mayo VEC. The original site served it purposes well and served it time since its creation a few years ago, but the internet and technology moves faster and faster each year.

HTML

The new site has moved away from static HTML to the more common dynamic database style site that give the Centre the ability to edit and amend the site themselves. Its this self administration that puts the power back in their hands as they will not be reliant on the web designer to update the content. So when they have events or programs that they are running and they need to get this information up straight away, the office can update the site in a few minutes with the private login.

The new layout takes advantage of the new screen sizes available these days and the older design utilized the more basic 800 x 600 design, so now the new site will fit a larger 19″ screen without been squashed in one corner. As well as giving the site a new graphic design we worked with Tim and his dedicated team to create a website that reflects their programmes and activities as they have changed and developed over the years. Some of their activities include:

• Archery , Canoeing , Campcraft, Dinghy Sailing, Environmental Studies, Group Challenge
• Hillwalking, Kayaking, Navigation Skills, Powerboating, Raft Building, Rockclimbing

In order to update the site a Training day was held in which I had that opportunity to be at the Centre for the day working with the team to run through their services and see the Centre again. It really is about the Outdoors on Achill Island, even though we had to spend the day going through the website updating system and then giving the guys a few tasks to insert links, edit and resize images, insert images, adding new text etc. Updating of the site is important in terms of continuing the education of their students both in the field and on-line.

For this purpose we have also included the use of a Blog and Social Media to help bring their information for the masses. Social Media usage by educators has become more popular these days as business owners  are understanding the great benefit that sites such as facebook and YouTube can bring in terms of traffic and returning visitors to a site

At Cada Media we get many requests to get involved in various new enterprises that spring up from time to time. This month we are helping new start up business of Ruairi Gough, a native of Dublin now living in the South East. Hollywood Centre

We are delighted to launching this new exciting website that we hope will bring a rural community even closer together in this close-nit and friendly part oc Co. Wicklow.

One of the big things we discovered about the Hollywood Centre whilst in the process of developing this website and meeting the people involved was that this centre really is in the “Center” of everything that goes on in this West Wicklow village. They have events running through out the year that cater for everybody’s needs from Yoga to childcare services.

It’s an amazing place that we are so proud to be associated to an organisation that brings the entire community together and we hope that this new website will enable them to communicate their services and events easier.

The site is built using “content Management software and allows them to update their Calendar of Events, staff Rota as well as keep all the pages of the website fresh with all the current of what’s happening in the centre on a daily basis.
