Revenue Commissers Warning re Tax Phishing Scam

The Revenue Commissioners have issued a warning to individuals and companies regarding fraudulent phishing emails relating to tax refunds and purporting to come from the Revenue Commissioners.

Phishing is a technique used to obtain personal information for the purpose of identity theft using fraudulent email messages that appear to come from legitimate businesses. Financial institutions are frequently targeted by these attacks.

Anyone who believes they have received such an email is asked by the Revenue Commissioners to forward it to webmaster@revenue.ie
